Wellness Wednesdays Return Jan. 6

Partnership with Kentucky Inclusive Health Collaborative
Promotes Healthy Behaviors

Wellness WednesdayAfter a brief break for the Holiday season, Wellness Wednesdays are set to return January 6 with two Zoom training sessions before returning to their usual health and wellness information format on January 13. The latest Wellness Wednesday schedule will run every other week through April.

The regular sessions, which are held in conjunction with the Kentucky Inclusive Health Collaborative, will focus on teaching healthy eating behaviors. Each session will be led by a different Special Olympics Athlete Leader with the support of a clinical director. Every session will start at 1 pm (ET) and will last about 30 minutes. They will be presented via Zoom and you must register in advance.

“We’re very excited about this opportunity to work with the Kentucky Inclusive Health Collaborative to produce Wellness Wednesdays,” said Special Olympics Kentucky Vice President of Field and Athlete Services Kim Satterwhite. “Especially at a time when our regular Healthy Athletes events have been curtailed, this is a great way to remind athletes about the importance of healthy eating habits. And we are so proud of our athlete leaders for the role they are playing in this effort.”
