Special Olympics Kentucky Celebrates 40 Years
40th anniversary logo

This year marks a very exciting milestone for Special Olympics Kentucky as the program celebrates 40 Years of Changing Lives in 2010. The program will be celebrating its 40th Anniversary throughout the year, beginning at the State Leadership Conference in Louisville on Martin Luther King Day and ending with the State Bowling Tournament in early December. Team Kentucky Announced for USA National Games

Special Olympics Kentucky is proud to announce the team that will represent the State as Team Kentucky at the 2010 Special Olympics USA National Games. The team includes 40 athletes, one unified partner and 18 coaches. Kentucky athletes will be competing in seven sports at the Games — Aquatics (swimming), Athletics (Track and Field), Basketball, Bowling, Golf, Rhythmic Gymnastics and Softball. of the Year respectively at the State
Leadership Conference, held
Jan. 18-19 in Louisville.

The Coach of the Year award recognizes a SOKY coach who not only provides skill training to athletes but also sets an example of the highest ethical and moral conduct. The Athlete of the Year award acknowledges a Kentucky athlete who embodies courage, sportsmanship, and respect and acts at all times in a manner that is a credit to Special Olympics. More
