St. Athanasius Event to Host Special Olympics Championship

State Cheerleading

The Special Olympics Kentucky State Cheerleading Competition will return this February at a yet to be determined location.

Squads will compete in levels from beginner to elite, as well as in a Unified division for squads that include Special Olympics athletes and members who do not have an intellectual disability.

Squads qualify for the State Competition by taking part in at least one of two regional competitions earlier in February.

Special Olympics Kentucky cheerleading competitions are commonly held as part of larger events that included non Special Olympics squads. These events give our athletes the opportunity to compete in larger environments and display their abilities for larger crowds.
