Holly Vincent
Holly Vincent, Head of Delegation

Vincent, who is Special Olympics Kentucky’s Senior Director of Sports and Competitions, will be going to the USA Games for the third time. She served as Team Kentucky’s Assistant Head of Delegation at the 2022 Games in Orlando. Before joining the SOKY staff, Vincent was the head coach of the Bowling Green-based flag football team that won a bronze medal for Team Kentucky at the 2018 Games in Seattle.

Kim Satterwhite, Assistant Head of Delegation

Satterwhite is one of three members of Team Kentucky who has been part of all six USA Games. She will be Team Kentucky’s Assistant Head of Delegation in Minneapolis. The longest-tenured member of the Special Olympics Kentucky staff, Satterwhite is the program’s Vice President of Field and Outreach Services. In addition to her five previous USA Games experiences, Satterwhite was also an AS Coach with the Special Olympics USA delegation at the 2003 World Summer Games in Dublin, Ireland. The Frankfort native volunteered with Special Olympics before joining the staff.

“It is an honor to be attending my sixth USA Games and serving as the Assistant Head of Delegation. I look forward to getting to know Team Kentucky and cheering them on.”

Mark Buerger

AS Coach, Media

Buerger has been with the Special Olympics Kentucky office for 24 years and serves as the program’s Director of Communications and External Relations. During the Games he will handle media relations and social media activities for Team Kentucky, reporting back to local communities and updating soky.org and the organization’s Facebook, X and Instagram feeds. He has also competed as a Unified golf partner. Buerger lives in Lexington.

“This will be my sixth USA Games, and it’s still so exciting. I look forward to a lot of things, but the biggest thing I talk about when I tell people what the USA Games are like is the energy that they have. You can just feel it wherever you go. I also look forward to the joy our athletes get out of having the opportunity to compete and of course when they win a medal.”

Jeff Corder
Jeff Coder
AS Coach, First Aid

Corder, from Bowling Green, is making his fifth trip to the USA Games, handling all of the health-related needs of Team Kentucky. Corder has been a Special Olympics volunteer for 35 years and heads up the operations of the Kentucky Special Events Medical Team, which provides first aid services for all Special Olympics Kentucky state-level competitions. He is a nurse at TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Bowling Green.

Owensboro’s Johnson will be going to the USA Games in an official capacity for the first time, but has been to the USA Games twice before supporting Owensboro-area teams that competed in the 2006 Games in Iowa and the 2018 Games in Seattle and her husband Jeff who coached those teams. Johnson has volunteered with Special Olympics for 36 years as a coach and chaperone. She served as the Daviess County Special Olympics local coordinator for more than 20 years and is currently a member of the SOK Staff as the Area 2 Director. Before retiring, Johnson was an award-winning Special Education Director for Owensboro Public Schools.

Michalak-Parsley joins Team Kentucky as an AS Coach for the first time, but she’s been to the USA Games twice before. SOKY’s Senior Director of Unified Champion Schools, Karen served as the adult mentor of our Youth Leadership Experience participants in 2018 in Seattle and travelled to Orlando in 2022 to support both our YLE representatives and our Unified Basketball team. Prior to joining the Special Olympics Kentucky staff, Michalak-Parsley coached middle and high school track and volunteered at Special Olympics track events. She also helps organize Special Olympics Kentucky’s Esports efforts. She lives in Louisville.

Roy will be Team Kentucky’s Family Services Coordinator for the 2026 Games. She is SOKY’s Volunteer Services coordinator. Prior to joining the SOKY staff, she had been involved in Special Olympics as a parent, coach and volunteer. Five years ago, she founded the Shelby County Stars local program. This is her first USA Games on the Team Kentucky staff, but in 2018 and 2022 she led the brigade cheering for her daughter Caitlin who medaled in track at both Games. She lives in Finchville.

Trent of Waddy is the Sports Program Coordinator for Team Sports at SOKY. Before joining the SOKY staff, she volunteered with the program for many years. She also participated in Unified programs when she was a student at Shelby County High School. This is her first trip to the USA Games.

“I’m looking forward to building new relationships with our athletes, coaches, and staff. Excited to watch our athletes compete on a national level and get to showcase all of their hard work and dedication.”
