Bud Coffman, Coach
Coffman will be coaching the Team Kentucky bocce delegation for the second consecutive USA Games. In Seattle in 2018 his athletes claimed three silver medals. He has been involved in Special Olympics for more than 20 years as a coach and Unified partner, coaching track, bowling, softball, basketball and swimming in addition to bocce. He has also competed as a bowling Unified partner. In addition to also serving with his wife, Danielle, as a Local Coordinator in Ohio County, Coffman was the bocce venue director at the State Summer Games in both 2019 and 2021. He lives in Hartford.
Amy Butler
Butler, 45, of Almo has been a Special Olympics athlete for five years and has competed in bowling, track and field and softball in addition to bocce. She has played bocce for three years.
Kym Dickamore
Dickamore, 31, of Murray has also been a Special Olympics athlete for five years and competed in bocce for three. She has also competed in basketball, bowling and softball.
Torrey Thompson
Thompson, 26, of Rockport will be competing in his first USA Games, he is no stranger to the event. His brother Brett and dad Jeff won a silver medal in the Unified bocce competition at the 2018 Games in Seattle. Thompson has been involved in Special Olympics for 12 years and has competed in bocce for eight. He has also competed in basketball. At the Games, Thompson will compete in the bocce singles event before teaming with Mark McKinney in the Unified doubles event.
Mark McKinney, Unified Partner
McKinney has been involved in Special Olympics for more than 20 years as a coach, official and Unified partner. He and his wife, Pam, currently serve as Local Coordinators for the Ohio County Special Olympics program. McKinney has coached track and field, softball and basketball in addition to competing as a Unified partner in bowling and bocce. He works at Youngs Manufacturing.
