One of the State’s Most Unique Events Returns to Shelbyville in October
One of our most unique events returns to the Special Olympics Kentucky calendar in 2022. This year’s State Equestrian Competition will be back at the Shelby County Fairgrounds in Shelbyville for the second consecutive year on Nov. 4. The Equestrian Competition was previously held at the Fairgrounds in 2002.
The Competition gives riders from therapeutic and private riding organizations throughout the state an opportunity to come together and display their skills.
Athletes will once again compete in multiple disciplines, including English and Western Equitation, Dressage, Showmanship and Working Trails.
Activities get underway at 8:45 with Opening Ceremonies followed by the first competition class at 9 am. The public is welcome to attend and admission to the competition is free.
