Mercy Academy Event to Host Special Olympics Championship

State Cheerleading

The Special Olympics Kentucky State Cheerleading Competition will return February 24 at Mercy Academy in Louisville.

Squads will compete in levels from beginner to elite, as well as in a Unified division for squads that include Special Olympics athletes and members who do not have an intellectual disability.

This year the State Competition will be the only competition of the cheerleading season.

Special Olympics Kentucky cheerleading competitions are commonly held as part of larger events that included non Special Olympics squads. These events give our athletes the opportunity to compete in larger environments and display their abilities for larger crowds.
