Partnership with Kentucky Inclusive Health Collaborative Promotes Healthy Behaviors
Our popular Wellness Wednesdays seminars return this fall. The program, a partnership between Special Olympics Kentucky and the Kentucky Inclusive Health Collaborative, provides information on exercise, healthy diet and other healthy lifestyle choices.
Sessions are offered every other Wednesday beginning at 1 pm. They are led by Special Olympics Athlete Leaders with the support of a clinical director or by Kentucky Inclusive Health Collaborative staff. Every session will last about 30 minutes. They will be presented via Zoom and you must register in advance. You only need to register once and you will receive reminders for the remaining sessions.
Upcoming Dates Include:
Sept. 8 & 22
Oct. 6 & 20
Nov. 3 & 17
“We are happy to have the opportunity to continue our Wellness Wednesday series with the help of the Kentucky Inclusive Health Collaborative,” said Special Olympics Kentucky Health Services Manager Kelli Firquin. “This has been a great way to reach athletes where they are and help provide ideas on how to live healthier lives, especially in situations where they sometimes can’t participate in Special Olympics the way they traditionally have.”
Wellness Wednesday got its start in 2020 near the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic and has remained a valuable part of our outreach to athletes and their families.
