Tayshaun Prince to Headline Farm-to-Table Dinner Benefiting Special Olympics

UK Basketball great Tayshaun Prince will headline a three-course farm-to-table dinner to benefit SOKY.

Former UK and current NBA star Tayshaun Prince will be in Lexington on Thursday, Sept. 22, to headline a Kentucky Proud farm-to-table dinner to help raise funds for Special Olympics Kentucky.

The dinner will be held at Fasig-Tipton Dining Hall with the VIP cocktail reception beginning at 6:00 PM. The three-course dinner will be prepared by local celebrity chef Cole Arimes of Coles on Main (Lexington) and will feature farm product from across the Commonwealth. Only 100 tickets are available at $75 per ticket. Tickets include VIP meet and greet and photo with Prince and chances to win autographed Prince memorabilia and Kentucky Proud gift baskets. WKYT sports personality Dave Baker will emcee the dinner. Lexington event management company LexEffect is organizing the dinner, which is sponsored by Kentucky Proud, Kentucky One Health and Big Ass Fans.

Prince, a Compton, Calif., native, was the 2001 SEC Player of the Year. He won an NBA championship in 2004 with the Detroit Pistons and was a member of the gold medal-winning 2008 USA Men’s Olympic basketball team. Prince will enter his 15th NBA season this fall and played last season for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
