Louisville Bats Host Special Olympics Night May 29

Special Olympics Kentucky is teaming up with the Louisville Bats on May 29 to send Team Kentucky off to the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games.
In celebration of the Games, The Louisville Bats have invited members of Team Kentucky to participate in the night’s opening ceremonies. Four Team Kentucky athletes will throw out first pitches before the Bats take on the Omaha Storm Chasers, at 6:05 PM. The night will also include a postgame firework show, and entertainment from Chicago Boyz Acrobatics in honor of Memorial Day.

The 2022 Special Olympics USA Games will be held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, Rosen Aquatics Center, Orange County National Golf Center, and Exploria Stadium. The Games will offer 19 Olympic-style team and individual sports.
Team Kentucky will send 60 athletes and Unified partners from across the state to the Games in Orlando, Florida, June 5-12, in to compete eight sports. The team consists of members from the Bowling Green area, Central Kentucky, Greater Louisville, Hawesville, Marshall County, Murray and surrounding areas, Northern Kentucky and Olive Hill. They will compete in artistic gymnastics, bocce, bowling, flag football, golf, swimming, track and field, and for the first time ever, Unified Basketball.
