Coaching Certification Classes Now On-Line
Coaches Can Remain Certified Without Leaving Home
It has been a longstanding goal of Special Olympics Kentucky to provide our athletes with the best, most highly trained coaches possible. For many years we have made as many coaches education opportunities available on-line as possible, while also providing in-person training at clinics held around the state.
We know how busy our coaches are and how difficult it can be to get to those clinics and maintain your certifications. That’s why we now have put nearly all of our coaches certification trainings on-line at soky.org. Courses consist of a Power Point presentation you can read through at your own pace followed by a short quiz. Your quiz results will be sent to Director of Sports and Competition Hunter Brislin to be scored.
We will still be holding live training clinics occasionally, but the on-line trainings will help those who can’t travel to the clinics for whatever reason keep their understanding of Special Olympics rules and best practices up to date.
All of the on-line traingings can be found here. Sports that we don’t have training modules ready for link back to Special Olympics coaching resources. We hope to have more available by the end of the year.
If you have any problems accessing the trainings or if you have any questions about the coach certification process, contact Michaele at [email protected] or 502-695-8222.
