More than 1,1oo athletes from across the state will compete in ttrack and field, bocce, rhythmic gymnastics and soccer at the 2023 State Summer Games June 2-4 at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond.
FRIDAY, JUNE 2
9:00 am: Law Enforcement Torch Tun Final Leg
– 9:00 am: Opening Ceremony; Capitol Rotunda, Frankfort
– 9:20 (approx.): Opening Run from State Capitol
– 10:30 am: Stewart Home School Run & Ceremony; Stewart Home School, Frankfort
– 1:15 pm: Lexington run from Transylvania University to Downtown and then to the
University of Kentucky Wildcat statue.
– 3:30 pm: Richmond Police Department Ceremony & run to EKU; Richmond PD Station
6:00 pm: Opening Ceremonies (Ravine)
Competition for the following will begin after Opening Ceremonies:
Unified Bocce Competition (Intramural Fields off Van Hoose Drive)
Track Events – 5k, 1,500m, 100 m wheelchair race & Relay Events (Tom Samuels Track)Â
SATURDAY, JUNE 3
8:00 am: Bocce Athlete Doubles (Intramural Fields off Van Hoose Drive)
8:00 am: Track & Field Events (Saturday’s Track & Field Schedule will be the Male/Female format: Morning will be males on the track and females in field events. Schedule will flip for the afternoon with all female track events and male field events.
8:30 am: Rhythmic Gymnastics (Student Recreation Center, Main Floor)
8:30 am: Soccer Competition (Intramural Fields)
9:00am – 2:00pm: Olympic Town, Powell Plaza
9:00 am – 2:00 pm: Healthy Athletes Screenings (Powell Building on second floor)
7:30 pm – Closing Ceremonies & Dance (Powell Plaza)
