2026 State Summer Games

Law Enforcement officer and Special Olympics athlete carry the Special Olympics torch.

Athletes from throughout Kentucky will gather at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond for the biggest weekend of the Special Olympics Kentucky year. Athletes will compete in Bocce, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Soccer and Track and Field, as well as take part in Opening Ceremonies, Healthy Athletes, Olympic Town and the Closing Ceremonies and Victory Dance.

June 5
9:00 am – Torch Run Final Leg Flame of Hope Lighting at the Frankfort Police Department
11:00 am – Final Leg at Stewart Home and School in Frankfort
12:30 pm – Final Leg at Nicholasville Police Department
2:00 pm – Final Leg at Old Morrison Building at Transylvania University in Lexington
2:45 pm – Final Leg at Old Fayette County Courthouse
3:30 pm – Unified Bocce Competition Begins
4:00 pm – Final Leg at Richmond Police Department
6:00 pm – Opening Ceremonies
7:00 pm – Bocce & Track and Field competition begin

June 6
8:00 am – Competition begins at all venues
9:00 am – Healthy Athletes and Olympic Town open
6:30 pm – Closing Ceremonies
