SOKY Announces Virtual Art Competition Winners
The annual SOKY Art Competition is one of the less well known aspects of our State Summer Games. It gives our athletes another outlet to show off their many talents, and the display truly brightens the Summer Games experience. Even though we had to cancel Summer Games this year, we knew we needed to find some way to continue to encourage and promote our athletes’ creativity. With that in mind, we hosted a Virtual Art Competition.
More than 70 works were submitted via e-mail the first two weeks of May. The overwhelming number of entries and their quality made selecting winners very difficult. We did find four pieces that stood out and are proud to announce our Virtual Art Competition winners:
Janie Buxman –Â Stewart Home & School
Cheyenne Byrd –Â Marshall County KY Special Olympics
Collin Lutz – Jessamine County Sharks
and
Danielle Warren –Â Murray/Calloway Co. Special Olympics
Janie Buxman – Stewart Home and School | Cheyenne Byrd – Marshall County |
Collin Lutz – Jessamine Sharks | Danielle Warner – Murray/Calloway County |
Each of our winners received a $25 gift card and every entrant received a certificate recognizing their participation. You can see all of the entries and many of the athletes who submitted them on our Flikr page.
